Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Wayne County Human Services, Children & Youth Services Agency seeks a County Casework Manager 1 in Honesdale, PA to supervise social service supervisors and workers delivering case management, counseling, and related services.

This role emphasizes supervisory leadership, staff development, budget planning, and ensuring compliance with regulations, with a schedule 8-4:30, occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in public or private social work including one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision: Provide formal supervision and guidance to Ongoing Protective Services Casework Supervisors and the Agency’s Social Service Aide Supervisor
• Employee Development: Train staff on new and existing procedures, policies, and regulations; maintain the Agency’s policy and procedure manual
• Planning Assistance: Help develop the Agency’s Annual Needs Based Plan and Budget, providing budget trends and identifying needs
• Issue Resolution: Discuss problems or unusual cases presented by staff, identify solutions, and determine when higher-level review is needed
• Quality Assurance: Evaluate case records to ensure services comply with regulations and meet or exceed service delivery standards
