Job summary

GitLab seeks a Manager of Public Sector Solutions Architects to lead a distributed team delivering customer outcomes for public sector clients. You will guide technical pre-sales, align cross-functional partners, and translate mission needs into GitLab’s DevSecOps platform.

You will hire, coach, and develop architects, drive execution, and balance strategy with hands-on leadership in a remote, global environment. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector environments and customer engagements.
• Proven leadership of high-performing teams, ideally remote or globally distributed.
• Experience in technical pre-sales or solution design supporting customers.
• Knowledge of modern software delivery lifecycle and practices.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and secure, scalable adoption.
• Ability to mentor and provide constructive feedback.
• Experience collaborating with multiple managers and cross‑functional partners.
• Experience supporting public sector customers and regulated environments.
• Willingness to bring transferable leadership from adjacent fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple high‑impact initiatives that support strategic public sector sales opportunities.
• Manage a team of Solutions Architects through hiring, coaching, feedback, and retention.
• Guide technical evaluations and validation efforts to align GitLab with customer needs.
• Collaborate with regional sales and cross‑functional leaders on complex opportunities.
• Improve team practices and execution strategies in partnership with leadership.
• Articulate GitLab’s vision and strategy to your team for day‑to‑day alignment.
• Track execution using KPIs and provide updates to peers and leadership.
• Model customer engagement by acting as a Solutions Architect on select opportunities.
