Job summary

FIT Staffing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Public Procurement Manager in Amherst, MA to lead contracts across the full lifecycle. You will develop RFPs, oversee bid openings, and evaluate contracts while ensuring compliance with Massachusetts public purchasing laws.

You will monitor supplier performance, analyze spend patterns, and collaborate with teams to expand contract portfolios that meet member needs and procurement trends. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• MCPPO certification preferred.
• 5+ years of public procurement experience, ideally in municipal/government/public sector.
• Strong knowledge of Massachusetts procurement laws and municipal finance practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and database tools.
• Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of contracts through the full public procurement lifecycle.
• Develop and oversee RFPs, bid openings, evaluations, and contract awards.
• Ensure procurement activity complies with Massachusetts public purchasing laws.
• Monitor supplier and contract performance and use data to guide improvements.
• Partner internally to expand contract portfolios aligned with member needs and buying trends.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, members, and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison to suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with terms.
