Job summary

The City of Boston is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the Fire Department's procurement function and related external entities. You will coordinate specifications, bidding support, and contract executions, while developing supplier strategies and managing performance measures.

This role requires strong financial analysis, procurement law knowledge, and collaboration with the Law department to interpret contracts and ensure compliance with 30B and Chapter 149.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and/or accounting.
• Procurement experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred and may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• Demonstrated organizational skills for compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact in City Purchasing for the Fire Department; assist with bidding/RFPs and contract execution.
• Develop supplier management strategies and oversee supplier contracts.
• Ensure adherence to procurement laws, including 30B and Chapter 149.
• Collaborate with Law department for contract interpretation and risk management.
