Albemarle County is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. The role serves as a central contact for multiple county departments and supports pay changes, benefits, and compliance with applicable laws.

The position offers telework options under the county's remote work policy, with residency in Virginia required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, Public Admin with 2 years HR Generalist experience.
• Equivalents considered; two years of related experience may substitute for each year of education.
• Experience in recruitment/onboarding, FMLA/ADA administration, and policy guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist departments with staffing, onboarding, and organizational changes.
• Provide guidance on practices and policies to ensure compliance with laws.
• Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding for assigned departments.
• Handle HRIS personnel changes and respond to employee inquiries on benefits.
• Produce reports, lead cross-functional projects, and support performance management.
