Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus additional training or related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Direct eligibility experience is advantageous.
• Experience serving populations with limited English proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine initial eligibility for benefits.
• Process applications for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, Energy assistance, and more.
• Analyze information and policy to determine ongoing eligibility for financial and medical programs.
• Explain programs, rights, responsibilities, and refer to social workers as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity in accordance with guidelines.
• Respond to appeals, prepare summaries, and participate in hearings.
• Attend meetings and contribute to team and agency initiatives.
• Suggest policy and process improvements based on experience.
• Perform related tasks as required.
