Job summary

AWS is seeking a Strategic Pursuits Manager for the US State/Local Government & Higher Education market in Seattle to shape winning cloud adoption strategies. You will work with AWS field teams to identify needs, develop pursuit plans, and drive bids across public sector accounts, balancing policy, pricing, and partnerships to win multi-year engagements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
• Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
• Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology.

Responsibilities

• Executes strategies and tactics to deliver a qualified pipeline of opportunities with pursuit/win plans for each.
• Research and analyze data to identify cloud-related customer needs and buying trends.
• Build and manage a pipeline of Pre-RFP and RFP opportunities and develop/drive the pursuit plan.
• Manage pursuit plans and proposal responses with internal stakeholders to position AWS and partners to win.
• Develop win strategies, cloud-friendly procurement approaches, and innovative strategies with stakeholders and partners.
• Lead negotiations of direct contracts including Enterprise Agreements, BAA, NDAs, etc.
• Navigate government contracting vehicles and procedures; articulate pursuit and pricing strategies.
• Know acquisition policies and public sector compliance requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of engagements with varying timelines and milestones.
• Up to 30% travel.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Translate strategy into proposal win themes during the proposal stage.
