Job summary

The City of Millville is hiring Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee staff in a full-time, non-exempt civil service role. Trainees will learn to handle emergency and non-emergency calls, document critical data, and coordinate dispatch with police, fire, EMS, and other responders while using CAD and radio systems.

Upon successful completion of 12-month training and certifications, individuals may advance to Public Safety Telecommunicator.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to perform duties.
• Be at least 18 years old and able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Full-time non-exempt civil service trainee position with required training.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Obtain and document critical information from callers.
• Dispatch police, fire, EMS, and other personnel via CAD and radio.
• Maintain confidential records and follow safety procedures.
