Job summary

Bucks County is seeking a Dispatcher Trainee to begin the Department of Emergency Communications telecommunicator training program and become a permanent Dispatcher I. The role focuses on completing required training modules to meet local, state, and national standards for public safety communications center personnel.

The trainee will complete APCO Basic Telecommunicator, EMD, CPR, HazMat, IS-700/IS-100, and other FEMA modules, document testing, and progress to Dispatcher I upon successful

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing on a keyboard at least 30 WPM.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CLEAN access.
• Valid Driver’s License within six months of appointment.
• 911 Dispatcher experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete Dispatcher I training modules.
• Finish APCO Basic Telecommunicator and EMD training.
• Complete CPR training modules.
• Complete FEMA IS-700 and IS-100 modules.
• Attend required on-the-job-training simulations.
• Report conditions to supervisor and follow safety rules.
