Job summary

Unified Fire Authority is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Manager to oversee the Daily administration of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, guiding nonclinical intake, referrals, and program operations. You will coordinate peer support, EAP access, and contracts with clinicians and vendors, while ensuring compliance and privacy across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, behavioral health, or closely related field.
• Three years of relevant experience in behavioral health program operations, care coordination, crisis support, peer support administration, or related work.
• Valid driver's license.
• Completion of UFA-approved peer support and critical incident response training.
• Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program and implements policies, procedures, service pathways, and administrative processes.
• Receives requests for assistance and coordinates referrals to peer support, EAP, insurance-based providers, contracted clinicians, or community services.
• Coordinates nonclinical intake, eligibility verification, service authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up; referrals to clinical providers as needed.
• Oversees administrative operations of the Peer Support Program, including coordination, onboarding, training, records, and evaluation.
• Provides consultation to Peer Support team on protocols, referral pathways, and escalation procedures; obtains licensed clinical consultation when needed.
• Coordinates with Operations Battalion Chiefs for significant incidents and BHAAR scheduling and resources; facilitates BHAARs within training and qualifications.
• Develops behavioral health education and outreach to increase awareness and reduce barriers to access.
• Serves on the Health & Wellness committee and maintains relationships with EAP, health plans, clinicians, and partners.
• Manages provider agreements, authorizations, invoicing, utilization, and vendor coordination per UFA policy.
• Maintains confidential records and secure referral tracking; limits disclosure to what is necessary.
• Prepares aggregate program reports and evaluates referral patterns, access, utilization, and costs for improvement without disclosing identifiable data.
