Job summary

RiverCom 911 Center (WA) is seeking a Telecommunicator to answer 9-1-1 calls and coordinate dispatch for law enforcement, fire, and EMS. The role requires calm decision-making, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to evolving dispatch technology.

You will maintain a professional customer service demeanor, handle sensitive information, and operate CAD systems to track units and respond to first responders promptly. A background check and health screenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and US citizenship or PR.
• Must pass a skills test on data entry, decision-making, and multitasking.
• Must type at least 35 words per minute with accuracy.
• Must be able to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
• Requires ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Answer 9-1-1 calls and dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources.
• Monitor first responder locations and assign units as needed.
• Enter and retrieve data in CAD and other systems.
• Provide CPR instructions and other pre-arrival guidance over the phone.
