Job summary

Knowledge Services is recruiting an Eligibility Specialist for the Indiana Division of Family Resources in Rensselaer, IN. You will assist with processing applications for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid and ensure data accuracy per state policies.

The role requires 2 years of social service experience and solid computer skills; a Bachelor/Associate in Social Services is preferred, HS/GED acceptable. Wages start at $16.50/hr with benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred; HS diploma required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment is desired.
• Experience as Case Manager or Eligibility Specialist encouraged to apply.
• Strong written/verbal communication and reliable, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Specialists gather data for all relevant assistance programs either face-to-face or via phone with clients
• Verify all information is gathered accurately and meets state policies
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed
• Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients
• Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs
• Data entry into state database
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email
