Job summary

Austincc is seeking an experienced or newly graduated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility/Long Term Care team. The PTA works under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Physical Therapist to help improve mobility and relieve pain through a variety of treatments.

The role includes applying modalities such as massages, electrical stimulation, paraffin baths, thermal therapies, traction and ultrasound, and developing/adjusting treatment plans in

Qualifications

• Must have earned an Associates degree from an accredited school.
• Current state license as a PTA or in process for licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Uses physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility and relieve pain and disability caused by disease or injury.
• Implements and modifies the physical therapy plan of treatment under the supervision of a Registered or Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to meet patients' goals.
• Utilizes and applies modalities such as massages, electrical stimulation, paraffin baths, hot and cold packs, traction and ultrasound as assigned.
