Job summary

Aston Group in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting with mobility and rehabilitation activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PTA program.
• Current PTA certification or Florida license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with elderly residents.
• Ability to lift and assist residents safely during mobility activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with PTs, nursing staff, and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
