Job summary

Elara Caring in Indiana is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support our home-based care program. You will implement treatment plans, assist patients to improve mobility and independence, and collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program approved by the American Therapy Association
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices and orthotics.
• Deliver therapy services in accordance with physician orders and state guidelines
