Mayo Clinic is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join the Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit at our Generose building location in Minnesota. The role involves direct and indirect patient care for adults and children, under RN supervision, in a fast-paced, structured environment focused on safety, stabilization and recovery.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant working with adults and/or children - OR - completion of 12 college credits preferred.
• Experience with 24/7 residential programs or psychiatry & psychology-based programs preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in stressful and ambiguous situations.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office suite and/or competency with electronic clinic documentation.
• Demonstrates ability to multitask under stressful situations.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient/family centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient, and equitable manner.
• Basic skills in cleaning, cooking, and meal preparation.
• Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

Responsabilidades

• The Psychiatric Technician is an integral member of the psychiatric residential, hospital-based psych emergency services team and participates in both direct and indirect patient care for adults and children.
• Promotes involvement in the treatment program under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Supports residents in social, clinical, nutritional, and observational activities to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a safe milieu.
• Leads social activities, games and crafts that promote engagement in milieu and practice therapy concepts within individualized care plans.
