Mayo Clinic invites applications for a Psychiatric Technician in the Generose building's Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit. You will contribute to compassionate, immediate care for adults and children experiencing acute mental health crises, under the direction of registered nurses.

The role emphasizes teamwork with a multidisciplinary group, patient-centered safety, and evidence-based practices to support stabilization and recovery in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant working with adults and/or children.
• Experience with 24/7 residential programs or psychiatry/psychology-based programs preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in stressful and ambiguous situations.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence with Microsoft Office or electronic clinic documentation.
• Ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient/family centeredness and safety.
• Basic skills in cleaning, cooking, and meal preparation.

Responsabilités

• Join our dedicated team in the Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit and provide compassionate, immediate care for individuals in acute crises.
• Participate in assessment and stabilization in a safe, patient-centered environment.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and resilience.
• Lead social activities and crafts to engage patients in milieu and therapy concepts.
