Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota seeks a Psychiatric Technician to join the Emergency Psychiatric Empath Unit. You will assist in compassionate, patient-centered care for adults and children in acute crises, supporting assessment, safety monitoring, and treatment participation under RN guidance.

Located in the Generose building, the role emphasizes teamwork, milieu activities, and evidence-based practices to promote recovery while ensuring safety and quality of care. Full-time, 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant working with adults and/or children.
• Completion of 12 college credits preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and electronic clinic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision to ensure safety and well-being.
• Assist with assessments, milieu activities, and treatment plan participation.
• Support interdisciplinary team and maintain patient-centered care in a fast-paced unit.
