Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to administer medications and monitor patients under MD orders, ensuring safety and a therapeutic environment.

The role involves documenting resident condition, weights, BP, pulse, and respiration; assisting in staff training; and leading when administrators unavailable. This PRN, on-site position is based in Bethlehem, PA and offers comprehensive benefits to support a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Verifiable High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• PRN schedule, requiring availability across shifts and some weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and therapeutic treatments and report side effects.
• Provide care respecting patient rights, safety, and environment.
• Observe, document and report resident behavior.
• Monitor weights, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration per MD orders.
• Fill in resident charts.
• Order refills of medications.
• Act as lead staff when Administrator not available.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Job description

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient's rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

PAY: 18.30

• PRN - be able to work all 3 shifts as needed, 1 weekend a month, work Christmas or New Years Day
