Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to administer medications, monitor patient status, and document vital signs for residents. The role emphasizes patient rights, safety, and the therapeutic environment while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will observe behavior, maintain charts, and participate in staff training. This position requires 21+ age, a high school diploma/G.E.D., and a valid driver's license, with opportunities for enhanced pay on shift.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
• Mental Health experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor for side effects per MD orders and report.
• Observe, document and report resident behavior.
• Monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration monthly.
• Provide care in a manner that respects patient rights, safety and comfort.
• Fill in resident charts and communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff; implement Merakey policies.
• Act as lead staff when Administrator or Asst. Administrator is unavailable.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Position Details

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient's rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

PAY: Earn $18.50 an hour with the selection of enhanced pay.

SHIFT: 2nd shift- 3pm-11pm and every other weekend.
