Job summary

Merakey seeks a Psychiatric Technician to administer medications, monitor residents, and support therapeutic activities. The role requires attention to patient rights, safety, and accurate documentation of vital signs and behavior.

This PRN position offers shift flexibility, the chance to lead when administrators are unavailable, and a comprehensive benefits package including daily pay options and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Mental health experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
• PRN - able to work all 3 shifts as needed, 1 weekend a month, holidays (Christmas/New Year).

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and therapies; monitor and report side effects.
• Provide care respecting patient rights, safety, comfort and environment.
• Observe, document and report resident behavior.
• Monitor weights, BP, pulse and respiration per MD orders; monthly for residents.

Job description

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient's rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

PAY: 18.30
