Job summary

Merakey is a non‑profit provider of developmental, behavioral health, and education services. We seek a Psychiatric Technician for our Bethlehem, PA location to administer medications, monitor patient conditions, document observations, and support the therapeutic environment under MD orders.

This full-time role involves hands-on patient care, collaboration with a diverse team, and training of new staff. Merakey offers benefits and growth within our mission-driven care network.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health settings preferred.
• Must be able to work 3pm-11pm full-time with weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and therapeutic treatments, monitor for side effects and report.
• Provide care in a manner that respects patient rights, safety and comfort.
• Observe, document and report resident behavior.
• Monitor weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to support patient care or wellbeing.
• Fill in resident charts.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff and implement Merakey policies.
• Order refills of medications.
• Act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Position Details

The Psychiatric Technician will:

• administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
• provide care in a manner that considers the patient's rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
• observe, document and report resident behavior
• monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
• communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
• fillin resident charts
• assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
• order refills of medications,
• act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
• complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Earn $16.50 per hour or $18.50 with the selection of our Enhanced Pay option!
