Job summary

POWERX Co is seeking a Lead Test Engineer to drive testing, commissioning and validation of protection and control systems across substations. You will guide field teams, interpret relay logic, and ensure safety and reliability in energized environments.

The role requires hands-on leadership, deep HV knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with clients, engineering, and operations to deliver turnkey protection solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in high-voltage protection & control testing and commissioning.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse or equivalent relay platforms.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV preferred.
• Travel and overtime flexibility required.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations.
• Develop test plans, isolation plans, energization plans, commissioning procedures, and JHAs.
• Mentor Test Engineers in field execution and system understanding.
• Interface with clients and manage commissioning documentation and reports.
