Job summary

POWERX in Dallas seeks a Test Engineer II to perform relay protection testing and breaker control verification on projects up to 765kV under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Engineer. This role bridges from component-level tasks toward system-level understanding and independent testing with a questioning, detail-oriented mindset.

You will work with relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens) and testing tools, documenting results and ensuring compliance with utility standards and NETA practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in high-voltage protection & control testing.
• Familiar with relay platforms (SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred; technical degree acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Execute relay protection testing tasks under Senior/Lead supervision.
• Perform breaker control circuit testing and verify trip paths.
• Read drawings and navigate one-/three-lines and schematics.
• Maintain accurate test records and assist with turnover documentation.
