Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will support testing and commissioning for high voltage substations, control systems, and protective relays on utility and industrial projects.

Responsibilities include on-site relay testing with Omicron/Doble equipment, data capture via field forms and mobile tools, safety adherence, and mentoring junior technicians while coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
7+ years in electrical testing including HV breakers, transformers, CTs, and protection testing.
Expertise with transmission/generation/distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE).
Relay calibration with Omicron/Doble test sets; microprocessor relay settings uploading.

Responsibilities

Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
On-site protective relay testing using Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150; test relays including SEL, GE families.
Document site activities with field forms and mobile tools; maintain logs and photos.
Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor; escalate complex issues as needed.
Collaborate with subcontractors and other technicians to maintain safety, quality, and workflow.
Carry out clerical tasks such as timecards and project reports.
