Job summary

Focus Consulting in Utah seeks a detail-oriented Pursuit / Proposal Coordinator to lead and support responses to RFPs, RFQs, SOQs, and other pursuit materials for civil engineering and surveying services. You will coordinate, write, edit, and produce compliant proposals, collaborate with engineers and marketers, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment to help win projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in proposal coordination, marketing, or pursuit support—AEC or professional services preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with RFPs, RFQs, or formal proposals.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Acrobat).
• Experience with proposal management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end proposal development for government and private sector pursuits.
• Develop proposal schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices to meet requirements.
• Facilitate kickoff meetings and gather inputs from technical staff and leadership.
• Track pursuit progress and deliverables across multiple concurrent proposals.
• Write, edit, and refine proposal narratives, resumes, and summaries.
• Translate technical information into clear, client-focused messaging.
• Ensure proposals reflect the firm’s brand voice and win themes.
• Proofread and quality-check materials for clarity and compliance.
• Collaborate with designers to develop layouts and visuals for proposals.
• Prepare final proposal packages for digital and hard-copy submission.
• Maintain proposal content libraries and boilerplate materials.
• Assist in post-pursuit debriefs and process improvements.
