Job summary

WHSmith is seeking an Operations Delivery Manager to lead field operations at an airport or resort property. The role partners with the Multi-Unit Manager and store leaders to drive performance, coaching, and consistent execution of company standards across the assigned property.

You will analyze operational data, guide teams, and implement action plans to improve sales, inventory control, and compliance while supporting onboarding and leadership development within the property.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive retail, hospitality, airport, or high-volume operational leadership.
• Ability to lead through influence, coach store teams, and drive accountability.
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs, labor productivity, inventory control, and compliance.
• Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into action plans.
• Experience supporting training, merchandising, customer engagement, and initiative implementation.
• Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Coach store leaders and frontline teams on day-to-day operational routines, customer engagement, selling behaviors, inventory execution, compliance expectations, and consistent execution of company standards.
• Identify capability gaps and deliver targeted coaching, training, and reinforcement to improve consistency and performance.
• Support property-level workforce readiness and development in onboarding and leadership readiness.
• Monitor store execution and provide clear recommendations to improve sales, profitability, customer experience, and operating efficiency.
• Translate company priorities into clear routines and expectations for store leaders and teams.
