Job summary

WHSmith is seeking an Operations Delivery Manager to lead field operations at an assigned airport or resort property. You will drive performance, coach leaders, ensure consistent execution of company standards, and act as the operational business partner to store leaders and frontline teams.

You will analyze sales, labor, inventory and compliance data to identify trends, create action plans, strengthen controls, and advance readiness for new initiatives while developing the property’s leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive retail, hospitality, airport, resort, or high-volume operational leadership.
• Proven ability to influence, coach store teams, support leaders, and drive accountability.
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs, sales drivers, labor productivity, inventory control, shrink reduction, audit readiness, compliance, and expense management.
• Ability to translate insights into clear action plans that improve business performance.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead through operational discipline and coaching across the property.
• Analyze performance data to identify root causes and improvements.
• Develop action plans to improve sales, profitability, and customer experience.
• Ensure compliance, inventory accuracy, and proper cash handling.
• Partner with Multi-Unit Manager to drive execution across locations.
