Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a Property Management Assistant to support the Property Manager in daily operations, ensure occupancy targets, and foster a supportive environment for residents, including special needs residents.

You will interact with vendors, onsite staff, and oversee leasing processes, with attention to policy implementation and reporting in line with company standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years property management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation; travel for training.
• Knowledge of Tax Credit Section 42, HUD and related tenant rules.
• Familiarity with city/state regulations and property management software.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and screens prospective residents for occupancy.
• Prepares, processes and signs leases and rules.
• Purchases general supplies and services per policy.
• Assists with inspections and monitors work orders.
• Rent collection and deposits using property management software.
• Writes warning letters and prepares legal notices to residents.
• Submits required reports and maintains records per JSCo policies.
• Performs related work and other duties as required.
