Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet company standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

The role involves diagnosing defects, performing repairs, completing make-readies for vacant units, tracking inventory, and supporting safety programs. A high school diploma and 2 years of maintenance experience are required, with EPA certifications and a valid driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and/or training.
• 2 years minimum experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• May be required to hold various certifications (e.g. HVAC) and licenses.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as a leader, and a collaborative member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and repairs.
• Completes the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartments for leasing, including inspections and scheduling vendors.
• Follows procedures to access materials, track inventory, and notify about re-orders.
• Completes documentation and paperwork for service requests.
• Assists in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities.
• Supports cost-cutting by fixing rather than replacing parts and using tools correctly.
• Complies with safety policies and participates in safety trainings.
• May inspect work by contractors to verify quality and scope.
• Assists in routine property inspections and communicates needs to management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
