Job summary

The Scion Group is seeking a Porter/Gatekeeper for a residential property to keep common areas clean and well-maintained. You will perform general maintenance tasks, assist with landscaping, and ensure safety and cleanliness in indoor and outdoor spaces.

This role requires initiative, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through, with an on-call duty structure and the ability to work in a collegiate environment.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma and one year of experience in lawn/grounds maintenance or equivalent.
• Efficient in reading instructions and documenting labor and materials
• Record of punctuality and dependability, able to work under deadlines and flexible for after-hours/weekend emergencies
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to stand 8 hours or longer and lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical condition of the property per SOPs, OSHA and industry standards.
• Perform physically demanding work to maintain the asset and other features.
• Remove trash and debris from common areas continuously.
• Sweep and remove debris from curbs, parking areas, walkways and stairs.
• Maintain and repair loose stairwell treads and exterior lighting.
• Mow lawns, trim planting beds, rake leaves, and manage landscaping debris.
• Install seasonal plantings and maintenance of irrigation systems and water features.
• Know emergency procedures and how to engage shutoffs and access cleanouts.
• Promote safety to limit property loss and protect residents and visitors.
