Job summary

Essex is seeking a Porter to maintain the grounds, curb appeal, and shared spaces across one or more properties in Huntington Beach, CA. You'll ensure clean exteriors, tidy common areas, and friendly resident interactions to uphold a quality living environment.

The role includes manual tasks, seasonal duties, and safety compliance, with a five-day onsite schedule and potential weekend coverage. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to use a personal smart device and MS Office tools.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, landscaping; remove debris and trash.
• Clean and maintain all common areas: lobbies, hallways, restrooms; stock supplies; clean windows and glass.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to supervisor.
• Ensure trash receptacles are emptied; assist with bulk trash removal and recycling.
• Interact with residents professionally and assist as needed.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal, leaf blowing, pressure washing exterior surfaces.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE; report hazards immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.
