Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking a Project Manager to lead NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility programs in central North Carolina from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll own the budget, schedule and risk, manage field teams and subcontractors, and serve as the main liaison with NCDOT, owners and inspectors.

Candidates should have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil work, verified NCDOT project experience, and a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as the Project Manager of record, from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job you run.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as the main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
