Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with an MS degree.
• Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties on construction projects.
• Extensive PM experience managing teams and multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience with up-front involvement with engineering firms, clients, and general contractors.
• Proven track record of successful projects involving multi-discipline knowledge (Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the project Superintendent in the preparation of project documentation requirements, project layout, and field office support.
• Developing a resource loaded CPM schedule with time scale logic in Primavera scheduling software.
• Coordinating and running a project kick-off meeting (PKOM).
• Forecasting cash flow and manpower needs for projects.
• Reading and interpreting blue prints and project specifications.
• Working with the project Superintendent to develop a budget and cost codes and assign costs.
• Researching submittals, pricing change orders, and preparing estimates.
• Meeting with potential customers to present proposals.
• Understanding bid procedures and bid forms.
• Conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve issues.
• Coordinating acquisition of major materials and equipment requirements.
• Acquiring permits and ensuring inspections are handled correctly.
• Overall financial management of the project and maintaining profitability.
• Expediting change orders and ensuring timely punch lists, as-built drawings, manuals, and training.
• Monitoring progress and preparing monthly budget/schedule/cash flow reports.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and applying best practices.
