Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Deputy Project Leader for its Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit.

The role focuses on leading day-to-day project operations, change order management, and coordination with owners, contractors, and design professionals on high-security electrical and IT systems projects. You will oversee cash flow, prepare estimates, read blueprints, and ensure timely decisions and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5–7 years of experience in related construction/electrical/security fields.
• Experience with CPM Scheduling.
• Experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
• Knowledge of design techniques and blueprints/drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and writing skills, and ability to plan and organize work.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
• Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution.
• Price, track and manage change orders.
• Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses.
• Maintain as-builts and document project issues/conditions.
• Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
• Develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters.
• Communicate with customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives.
• Manage procurement, resources, rentals, and labor for projects.
• Arrange equipment, documents, plans, and other preparation for hand-off to installation and engineering teams.
