Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Project Executive I to provide overall management for large projects, lead the project team, and ensure strong customer relations. The role supports operating groups with winning work and requires interaction with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in construction-related field, 10+ years of construction management experience, and travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction management overseeing large projects.
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver's license.
• Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusive Behaviors, and Affiritive Action plans and their intended use.
• Ability to travel up 50-75%

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
• Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
