Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Project Executive I to provide overall management for large projects, lead the project team, and ensure strong customer relations across preconstruction to closeout.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Construction/Engineering, 10+ years of construction management, travel up to 50–75%, and a professional, client-focused approach. Base pay ranges from $168,100 to $252,200, with pay practices tied to location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in construction management overseeing large projects.
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver's license.

• Ability to travel up 50-75%

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
• Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
