Job summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Executive I who is responsible for providing overall management for large projects, leading the project team, and ensuring key and successful customer relations, as well as assisting operating groups with winning work.

This role requires interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality while driving project profitability and successful closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction overseeing higher education construction projects and other large scale construction projects $75 million+.
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
• Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
