Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado seeks an Engineering Planner (Project Engineer) to support a portfolio of programs in the central ASIC & FPGA Engineering division. You will coordinate planning and tracking across teams to ensure timely delivery.

The role involves analyzing workloads, preparing metrics, and driving development infrastructure while collaborating with ASIC/FPGA engineers and project leads. A BS in Electrical Engineering and FPGA/ASIC life-cycle experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience or coursework in FPGA/ASIC design.
  • HDL programming with VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Willing and able to obtain DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workloads and labor capacity; track progress against tasks.
  • Prepare project metrics for analysis by Technical Leads and Management.
  • Drive advanced features of project planning and tracking tools (MS Project, Jira).
  • Assist with proposal creation using data from past projects.
  • Set up development and project tracking infrastructure for consistency.
  • Evolve data collection from multiple tools into a unified database.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as outlined by Management.
  • Communicate with ASIC/FPGA engineers, Leads and Managers about the lifecycle of semiconductor development.
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, and completion of engineering projects; review design changes and releases.

Please join us as an Engineering Planner (Project Engineer), where you will be working within the central ASIC & FPGA Engineering division for Lockheed Martin Space. You will have the opportunity to support a portfolio of over 50 different programs and research and development (R&D) efforts. Your work will affect technology across military space, civil space, commercial space, missiles, missile defense platforms, satellite surveillance platforms, deep space exploration, and manned flight missions.

In This Role, You Will
  • Be responsible for proactively monitoring team member workloads, tracking progress against assigned tasks and labor capacity
  • Prepare project metrics for analysis by Technical Leads and Management
  • Drive advanced features of project planning and tracking tools, such as MS Project and Jira
  • Assist with proposal creation, leveraging data from past projects
  • Set up development and project tracking infrastructure for the development team to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Evolve department data collection and analysis from multiple tools into unified database
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as contractor onboarding, status collection, operations reviews, etc as outlined by Management
  • Communicate well with ASIC/FPGA engineers, Technical Leads and Managers, understanding the vernacular and lifecycle of semiconductor development
  • Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience or coursework in the design of FPGA and/or ASIC devices
  • HDL programming experience with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required for this position
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience in ASIC / FPGA life cycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test)
  • Knowledge of digital design, development, and simulation
  • Experience or knowledge of MS Project, JIRA
  • Experience with project planning, schedule tracking, task management, or coordinating technical deliverables across a team
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
