Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an ASIC & FPGA Engineer to design, verify and document ASIC/FPGA developments across space and defense programs. This role involves architecture and logic design, system simulation, and end-to-end verification using placement, routing and timing analysis.

Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering, hands-on ASIC/FPGA experience, and an active Top Secret clearance. The position requires being onsite with a 9x80 in-office schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience in design, debug and/or verification of ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance, US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, verify and document ASIC and FPGA developments.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Analyze all aspects from high-level design to synthesis, place & route, and timing/power utilization.
  • Use specialized equipment to establish operation data, conduct tests and evaluate results.

Join Our Team as an ASIC & FPGA Engineer where you will support over 50 different programs and research and development (R&D) efforts, affecting technology across military space, civil space, commercial space, missiles, missile defense platforms, satellite surveillance platforms, deep space exploration, and manned flight missions. Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in:

  • Sunnyvale CA
  • Denver, Boulder, Louisville or Highlands Ranch CO
  • King of Prussia PA
You will work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Develops, designs, verifies, and documents Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) development. Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Assignments include the analysis of all aspects from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power utilization. Typically uses specialized equipment to establish operation data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Experience in design, debug and/or verification of ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in leading or managing ASIC or FPGA projects.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and voracious learner
  • High EQ (Emotional Intelligence).
  • Space system design experience.
  • Unnderstanding of system and hardware requirements related to space.
  • Microsoft Project or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Atlassian JIRA or equivalent.
  • Experience being a Control Accounts Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Customer-facing communication experience (product/services sales, marketing, field, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
