Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Project Engineer to join a project team responsible for all technical and engineering aspects from planning to close-out. You will lead daily coordination among clients, trade partners, engineers, architects, and staff, ensuring on-time delivery and quality across the lifecycle.

The role requires a degree in engineering or related field and 2+ years in construction, with strong skills in reading drawings, scheduling, cost control, and communication.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience as engineer, project engineer, or similar role in construction.
• Knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and project administration.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily coordination between clients, trade partners, engineers and staff.
• Support planning, scheduling, predicting and managing technical tasks across the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate on purchasing, scoping and take-offs with Project Managers.
• Prepare submittals and ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Develop project schedules and subcontractor detail schedules.
• Draft change orders and manage costs and scope take-offs.
• Coordinate drawings with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
• Lead project close-out, turnover packages and final subcontractor payments.
• Develop and lead training sessions for team and trade partners.
• Own document management applications and processes.
