Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Southern California to assist the Project Manager in planning and executing construction projects. You will help manage the project schedule, submittals, material deliveries, and budgets while coordinating subcontractors to comply with contract documents.

The role includes supporting site utilization plans, safety and quality control programs, and preconstruction activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in budgeting and controlling expenses, including owner/subcontractor billings.
• Establish procedures for contract drawings and use in the job management system.
• Assist with scopes of work, bid package development and soliciting subcontractors and suppliers.
• Participate in constructability reviews.
• Develop site utilization plans with the Project Manager/Superintendent.
• Coordinate Loss Prevention, SAP and Quality Control program reviews.
• Lead pre-work subcontractor orientation meetings and ensure documentation for deliveries and safety.
• Manage submittal log and coordinate submittals and coordination drawings with subcontractors and the Superintendent.
• Review and process all submittal data and shop drawings to expedite schedules and material delivery.
• Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors and PM/Superintendent.
• Serve as onsite quality manager for assigned trades and verify deliveries meet requirements.
• Attend meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner reps; assist PM with progress reports/minutes.
• Distribute proposal change documents and assist in pricing change proposals.
• Update as-built drawings with clarifications and directives.
• Assist in submitting owner-required close-out documents and coordinating training.
• Promote relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and user groups.
