Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Project Engineer 1 to support construction and field execution on complex projects. You will assist in safety, quality plans, quantity take-offs, and on-site tasks to understand building processes and how JE Dunn delivers projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating punch lists, reporting, documentation, and collaboration with foremen, subcontractors, and the project team. This role emphasizes Lean practices and self-perform opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Participates in safety and quality plans and culture to promote an injury-free environment.
• Participates in QA/QC planning to ensure quality for tasks.
• Assists with estimating and change management tools, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals.
• Supports site activities with project team: monitor crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantity and equipment.
• Participates in punch lists, inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and prepares documentation.
• Posts drawings and specifications with the most recent information.
• Organizes and participates in project meetings; prepares and disseminates documentation.
• Prepares reports: daily/weekly progress, unit reporting, percentage complete, manpower, schedules, equipment tracking.
• Performs site observations and supports scheduling process; tracks procurement and deliveries.
• Supports project close-out: punch lists, manuals, as-built drawings.
• Learns Lean practices and how to integrate self-perform opportunities.
• Develops understanding of project support roles and collaboration across teams.
