Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a Project Engineer in the Tampa Bay area with 5–8 years of civil construction experience. The role focuses on engineering and project controls for heavy civil highway work, including FDOT projects.

You will support the Project Manager and Superintendent, produce schedules in Primavera P6, manage costs, quantify work, and coordinate with subcontractors. Relocation is welcome for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction, both office and field.
• Strong ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management emphasis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent on day‑to‑day project needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting.
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing.
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track.
