Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a Project Engineer for its heavy civil highway and bridge program. This role suits an engineer with 5–8 years in civil construction, able to manage multiple activities and coordinate field and office needs.

You will own project controls, review contracts, prepare schedules in Primavera P6, track costs, support billing, and ensure permits and SWPPP compliance. FDOT experience and HeavyJob familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in civil construction (office and field)
• Experience managing multiple activities on heavy civil projects
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word
• FDOT project experience is a plus
• Based in the Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate

Responsibilities

• Review contract and specifications in their entirety
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track
