Job summary

Accounting Search in Tampa, FL is seeking a Project Engineer for a heavy civil highway and bridge contractor client. The role combines office and field responsibilities, overseeing engineering, scheduling, and project controls on FDOT workloads.

5–8 years in civil construction and relocation willingness are preferred. You will manage Primavera P6 schedules, track quantities and costs, coordinate subs, and support monthly billing.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in the civil construction field (office and field).
• Experience managing multiple activities at once on heavy civil work.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, construction engineering and management emphasis.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.
• HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus.
• Based in the Tampa Bay area or ready to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track
