Job summary

Harkins Builders is seeking a Project Engineer 2 to support field operations in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. You will work under the lead superintendent, review drawings, manage subcontractors, and help maintain schedules and logs.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Construction Management with at least three years of field experience and is proficient with Procore, MS Project, and MS Excel. This role emphasizes coordination, quality, and safety across projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or related field.
• Three years of field construction experience.
• Proficient with construction terminology, contracts, and subcontracts.
• Able to read, interpret, and modify construction plans/specs related to the general contract.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with lead superintendent or supervisor in field assignment.
• Supervise assigned subcontracted trades in the field.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Process change orders and requisitions.
• Understand and help create schedules and maintain site logs and daily reports.
• Participate in safety inspections and quality control procedures.
