Harkins Builders in Baltimore/Washington DC is seeking a Project Engineer 1 to work closely with the Project Manager and Site Team in field assignments. You will lead on-site personnel, interpret plans, and ensure construction aligns with contract documents.

The role requires a BS in construction management or related field and at least three years of field experience, with proficiency in MS Project, Procore, and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Three years of field construction experience.
• Proficient with construction terminology, general contracts, and subcontracts.
• Ability to read, interpret, and modify construction plans/specs as it relates to the general contract.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Manager, assistant Project Manager, or Site Manager in field assignment.
• Lead and manage on-site personnel with growth and training opportunities.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
• Understand AIA Contract Documents, contract law, and subcontracts.
• Coordinate and maintain activities of a job site office.
• Utilize technology and computer programs to perform duties.
• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Understand estimating, contracting, cost reporting, logs and documentation, and meetings.
