Job summary

Harkins Builders, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer II on a path toward an assistant project manager role. You will support preconstruction, contract follow-up, and site set-up, working with the assistant project manager and project manager.

You will collaborate with the lead superintendent and field teams, supervise subcontractors, process submittals and change orders, and help manage schedules and site logs. Strong communication and coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Three years of field construction experience.
• Familiar with contracts and subcontracts.
• Able to read, interpret, and modify plans and specs related to the contract.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities.
• Strong communication with owner, design team, and field partners.
• Ability to organize resources to meet deadlines and goals.
• Proficient with construction software including MS Excel, Word, Project, and Procore.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with lead superintendent or superintendent in field assignment.
• Supervise assigned subcontracted trades in the field.
• Process submittals, change orders, and requisitions.
• Understand, utilize, and help create schedules.
• Understand, utilize, and abide by contracts.
• Participate in job reviews.
• Maintain site logs and daily reports, and assist safety inspections.
• Follow quality control procedures for quality assurance.
