Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Project Controls to partner with the project manager from bid preparation through client acceptance. You will lead, coach, and mentor project team members on cost control, schedules, and procurement.

The role requires coordinating with Preconstruction on estimates, reviewing financial documents, and guiding subcontractors while ensuring safe and timely project completion. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to manage multiple project tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-related web apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Coordinate scopes of work with Preconstruction on estimates and schedules.
• Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and other project documentation.
• Lead, coach, and mentor project team members.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers; oversee budget and subcontractor buyout.
